The Southern Africa Parliamentary Support Network (SAPST) hosted “The GenZ Dialogue,” a dynamic and inclusive event to commemorate the 2023 Day of the African Child, running under the theme ‘The Rights of the Child in a Digital Environment’. GenZ Dialogue seeks to provide a platform for young people’s engagement with policymakers and child rights players in both the public and private sectors.
GenZ Dialogue consisted of both physical and digital components, providing opportunities for engagement and participation in various formats, including GenZ TEDTalk-style speeches by young people; Gen Z panel discussions with key stakeholders; audience plenary, and networking. Social media platforms and digital channels will be used to promote the recorded speeches and invite the wider public to engage in online discussions, share their thoughts, and contribute to the dialogue.
