The Southern African Parliamentary Support Trust (SAPST) was established in 2007 with the aim of strengthening Parliaments locally and regionally. SAPST’s work involves training of Committees and the Secretariat of Parliament in legislative, policy and budget analysis and reporting.

In the region SAPST implements a programme which seeks to enhance the recognition, promotion, protection and fulfilment of Social, Economic and Cultural Rights in both the SADC region generally and in the target countries Malawi, Botswana and Lesotho
SAPST also works in East and Southern Africa to ensure increased and improved quality of spending on sectors and programmes in East and Southern Africa supporting survival, learning and protection of children.
